Baked Feta Pasta Tik Tok - How To Make Baked Feta Pasta

How To Make Baked Feta Pasta

I do not usually jump on every trend that goes viral on TikTok but this one, I had to try! Everyone in my household loves feta, this was a no-brainer, we had to try it. I mean how bad can melted feta, garlic, tomatoes, and pasta mixed and baked really be, right?! :)

This TikTok viral baked feta pasta is totally worth the hype though! This now popular baked feta pasta is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight vegetarian meal!

Who would have thought a simple block of feta cheese could transform into a pasta recipe that just might break the Internet?

After seeing so many versions being shared all over social media, I decided to give this pasta dish a try and share my experience and thoughts on the blog. Made with just a handful of ingredients, this baked feta pasta is so creamy and flavorful. This must be one of the easiest pasta dishes that you will ever make. It is so flavorful, and I promise if you make it once, and you will keep making it repeatedly!

Here are a couple of points to note:

  • Try to find Greek feta cheese, it is made usually from sheep’s milk, unlike the “American” feta that is made from cow milk. This will help ensure the feta sauce is creamy and not gritty.

  • Save some of the pasta water and add half a cup of it at the end to help with the sauce creaminess

  • For a variety when making it again, try adding cooked chicken, shallots or onion, and spinach or basil (optional)

  • 1 lb. pasta – I used rotini, but any other shape of pasta can work here

  • 2 pints cherry or grape tomatoes

  • 1 block (7ounces/200 grams) Greek feta cheese

  • 6 garlic cloves (cut lengthwise) – I have seen some recipes with 7 or 8 but the 6 were perfect for my recipe

  • ½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Salt

  • Parsley

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. In a 13x9-inch baking dish, add the cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Give everything a good stir so that the tomatoes are well coated in oil.

  3. Make a little room in the middle for the feta block. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and some dried parsley.

  4. Add the garlic and give it a stir.

  5. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until the cherry tomatoes have softened and burst.

  6. In the meantime, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil cook the pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta. Remove the dish from the oven. The feta will be very soft and slightly browned on top.

  7. Using a spoon or a fork, mix the feta with everything else in the pan.

  8. Add in the pasta and some of the reserved pasta water if the sauce looks a bit dry. I added about half a cup.

  9. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if desired. Garnish with some basil leaves or parsley if you would like.

  10. Enjoy while it is still warm and creamy.

Bon Appetit!
